What David Shokouhbeen likes the most about street photography is the thrill of the unpredictability of the absurdest moments one could imagine: “Often, I stroll through the streets for hours in search of the humour in everyday life, the unusual, the unexpected in the mere interplay between environment and people”.

THE PHOTOGRAPHER

David Shokouhbeen has been photographing the streets since 2006. Beginning with exclusively black and white photography, he started developing films in a self-built darkroom in his parents’ garage. With his first digital camera in 2017, he started to shoot in color more often.
Professionally, he studied to become a teacher of Spanish and Mathematics, but ended up in his family business, renovating houses. Always on the road with one of his favorite cameras, his path led him to study Photography at the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen, Germany.
