High School Football 1978-1982

In the early summer of 1978, Don Hudson and his wife bought their first home in the small town of South Lyon, Michigan, just north of Ann Arbor, where they both worked. Late that Summer he took note of the enthusiasm and pride the town expressed toward the local high school football team. On a Friday night, after a week at his day job, he decided to investigate what the hoopla was about, and went to a game with his rangefinder camera, wide-angle lens, and strobe. He wound up going to many games, in his town and surrounding small towns, for the next 5 years.

Don Hudson began his relationship with photography in the 1950s and early 1960s, built his first darkroom in high school in 1968, attended art school for two years in 1972-74, then got a job to pay the bills and continued to photograph for his own pleasure and discovery.
