Fedrigoni Papers | Symbol Tatami

Eyeshot uses only papers from Fedrigoni, an Italian paper mill founded in 1888 in Verona. All Fedrigoni’s papers are FSC® certified, made from pure ECF pulp. Every product is fully biodegradable and recyclable.

Symbol Tatami White 135g/m2 is a thick paper coated on both sides with a Matt finish. Its volume and thickness give it a remarkable textural consistency that makes it ideal for prestigious publications such as Eyeshot’s monographs.

Credentials

EFC: ELEMENTARY CHLORINE FREE | It’s an environmentally friendly type of paper that has been bleached with products free of elemental chlorine. By replacing it with chlorine dioxide, polluting emissions are reduced by 90%.

FSC® MIX | The Forest Stewardship Council is one of the internationally recognised forestry certification systems, which guarantees the proper management of forests and the traceability of the resulting products.

HEAVY METAL ABSENCE | Paper and packaging are produced in a way that allows them to be reused and recycled. The absence of harmful metals and other substances and materials that are hazardous to human health is guaranteed.

LONG LIFE: ISO 9706 | This certification ensures that paper production recycles more CO2 than it emits, thus reducing the release of CO2 into the atmosphere that causes global warming. In compliance with ISO 9706 standards, the paper we use is acid-free which gives it resistance to light, wear and tear, and durability over time. It can be stored for up to 200 years.

The monograph

“Dreams the Black Sea”

The book is the pursuit of connections between the author’s existence and the sea itself, where she explores the relationships between personal sense of identity and belonging in relation to others, their environments and surroundings. “Dreams the Black Sea” is a tribute to the author’s childhood, the perfect blend of nature slowly reclaiming the environment, and the manmade structures showing signs of age that evoke a remembrance of things past.

In details

The photographic journey

A narrative that aims to reshape the mesmerising stories that scattered her summer nights told by her grandfather, a disabled actor, in the family’s beach hut: headless horses, children, and the charm of the sea. After 25 years, Suzan Pektaş has been roaming over the region again, searching for the characters of such stories.

The photographer’s vision
“I am mostly concerned with the existence and consciousness of the individual. Most, unaware of the space they exist in, are in deep solitude, unseen and untouched. I want to capture and recreate this solitude as an appreciation of people and their consciousness, invisible ties that bind us all together”.
