It will be an extraordinary event where all the finalists’ works will be not only displayed, but also available for purchase in collaboration with the gallery (in agreement with the author). And that’s not all. All finalists’ work will also be included in the Eyeshot Open Call 2022 photo book! Multi award-winning photographer whose artistic career spans over 30 years. In 2002 she became the first Australian to have won the venerable international Leica Oskar Barnack Award. She has also won two Walkley Awards for journalism, and two first-prize World Press Photo awards.

Trent Parke

The first Australian to become a Full Member of Magnum Photos. His work has been exhibited widely and is held in major institutional collections, including the National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Magnum London, and Magnum Paris.

Siegfried Hansen is a member of the renowned collective UP Photographers and a founding member of the German Street Photography Festival. Competition Rules

Competition Rules

1. ELIGIBILITY

Only people over the age of 18 can participate in the photo contest at the date of entry. The competition is open to legal residents around the world and is void if prohibited by their local law. The contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.

2. AGREEMENT TO RULES

By participating, You agree to be fully unconditionally bound by these Rules, and You represent and warrant that You meet the eligibility requirements. In addition, You agree to accept the decisions of Eyeshot Publisher as final and binding as it relates to the content of this Competition.

3. COMPETITION PERIOD

Submissions must be sent no later than 7 September 2022 at 11.59 p.m. (Rome time zone).

4. HOW TO APPLY

Participants are required to pay the registration fee and fill out the entry form for the contest. Eyeshot reserves the right to allow free participation for those who cannot afford the registration fee for financial reasons. To be eligible, the entry must meet all the specified contest requirements. Incomplete entries or entries that do not comply with the rules or specifications may be disqualified at Eyeshot’s sole discretion. Images must be in a .jpg format with a minimum of 2500 pixels on the longest side. For the category ‘Series’ the number of photos must be a maximum of 15 photos per series. Images with a minimum level of manipulation are accepted; cropping that removes extraneous details and the removal of sensor dust or scratches on negative scans are permitted.

5. PRIZES

For the “Single Image” category, The Winner of the Competition (the “Winner”) will receive €1000, the 2nd Winner will receive €500, and the 3rd Winner will receive €250. The first and second winning images will be the front and back covers of the Eyeshot Open call 2022 photo book. The three winning images will be printed as limited edition autographed postcards to accompany the publication. 50 finalists will be selected and their entries will be included in the Eyeshot Open Call 2022 photo book. This unique collection of photographic work will be available for purchase and distributed worldwide. The 50 photographs will also be displayed in the first-ever Eyeshot photography exhibition. All finalist photographers will also receive a digital certificate. The Finalists will be interviewed and posted on all Eyeshot channels.

For the “Series” category, the 3 Winners will receive a publishing contract that includes editing, printing, distribution, and promotion of a limited edition monograph of their work, entirely curated by Eyeshot. In addition, the 3 Winners will receive the proceeds from the sales of their publications. 20 Finalists will be selected and their work will be included in the Eyeshot Open Call 2022 photography book. This unique collection of photographic work will be available for purchase and distributed worldwide. The finalist series will also be displayed in the first photography exhibition organized by Eyeshot. All Finalists will also receive a digital certificate. The Finalists will be interviewed and posted on all Eyeshot channels.

The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by Eyeshot Publisher. No cash or other prize substitution shall be permitted except at Eyeshot Publisher’s discretion. The prize is nontransferable. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, state, and/or local taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the Winners and Finalists. No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by Winner is permitted. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for Eyeshot Publisher to use Winners and Finalists’ names, likeness, and entries for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation unless prohibited by law.

6. SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION

The decisions of the judges are final. Winners and Finalists will be notified by email within seven (7) days following the selection.

Eyeshot Publisher shall have no liability for Winners and Finalists’ failure to receive communications due to spam, junk mail, or other security settings, or for Winners and Finalists’ provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functional contact information. If they cannot be contacted, do not claim the prize within ninety (90) days of the mailing of the award notification, or do not promptly return a completed and executed statement and release as required, the prize may be forfeited. The Winners and Finalists’ receipt of the prize offered in this Contest is subject to compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

For any unforeseen reason, in the unlikely event that a judge has to cancel their involvement, Eyeshot Publisher reserves the right to find an alternative judge, making sure that all entrants will be notified.

7. RIGHTS GRANTED BY YOU

By entering this contest, you represent and warrant that your entry is an original work and does not violate the proprietary or intellectual property rights of any third party. If your entry infringes upon the intellectual property rights of any third party, you will be disqualified at the sole discretion of Eyeshot Publisher. If the content of your entry is accused of infringing the proprietary or intellectual property rights of any third party, you shall, at your own expense, defend or settle such claims. Each Participant retains copyright of their images and credit lines will be given to each Participant when displayed or submitted anywhere by Eyeshot Publisher.

8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

By participating, you agree to release and hold Eyeshot Publisher harmless from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, from (i) your participation in the Contest and/or your acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize or any part thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to, the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware or software or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmission, telephone or Internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process; (v) electronic or human error in the processing of entries.

Eyeshot Publisher shall not be held liable for any images submitted to the Competition and their potential consequences, nor for any problems that participants may face while participating in the Competition.

9. DISPUTES

For all matters not expressly provided for herein, the provisions of Italian law shall apply to this agreement. The Court of Bologna shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute between the parties pertaining to this agreement.

10. PRIVACY POLICY AND RIGHTS

Photographers retain all copyright on their images.

Information submitted with an entry is subject to the Privacy Policy on Eyeshot Publisher’s website, which can be found here: https://www.eyeshotstreetphotography.com/privacy-policy/.

11. CANCELLATION RIGHT

Eyeshot Publisher reserves the right to modify, suspend, to discontinue permanently or temporarily, or cancel the Competition at any time and without being required to give any explanation, in case it is in the incapacity to continue operating as anticipated, for any reason that is outside its jurisdiction and influence. Eyeshot Publisher will refund the entry fees to all Participants if the Competition is permanently suspended and will not reserve rights to use any of the pictures that have been submitted.

12. REFUNDS

No refunds will be made by Eyeshot Publisher unless the competition is permanently suspended.

13. COMPETITION RULES MODIFICATION

Eyeshot Publisher reserves the right to alter partially, amend, or modify the Competition rules at any time, and all Participants concerned by this change will be notified by email.
