The Eyeshot Open Call 2023 photo contest invites photographers from around the world to present their deepest and most stimulating interpretations of the theme “The Human Being” through street and documentary photography. To participate in the Open Call 2023 contest, you will need to choose between the two participation categories offered: Single and Series. It’s possible to submit works for both categories, adhering to the specific rules and characteristics of each.
The entry fee varies based on the per-capita income of the participant’s country of origin, divided into three economic bands. You can select one or more judges to receive technical evaluations and opinions from different perspectives on how to improve your technique and artistic vision.
Keep in mind that this service is completely optional; at the same time, it represents a unique opportunity to receive valuable professional advice on your photographic technique and artistic vision.

The central theme of the contest is “The Human Being”. The competition invites you to explore and represent the human condition in all its expressions through street and documentary photography.
The prizes include 1,700 euros in cash, publishing contracts worth over 45,000 euros, the opportunity to showcase your work to an international audience in an exhibition in Naples, Italy, and publication in the Eyeshot Open Call 2023 photo book. In addition, the winning works will enjoy visibility on Eyeshot’s social media and its partners, reaching a global audience of over 300,000 people in over 120 countries worldwide. Following this timeline, participants can prepare and submit their photos by the final deadline of August 14, 2023. The winners will then be announced in September 2023, with the exhibition of the works in the period from November 2023 to January 2024 at the Fotografici Warehouses in Naples. Meanwhile, during the opening of the competition, the best works will be published on Eyeshot’s social media to offer early visibility to participants.
Eyeshot accepts works from photographers and photography enthusiasts worldwide and is committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity.
The images submitted to the contest should meet the following requirements: for the application phase, the photos must have a minimum size of 2500 pixels on the longest side, a resolution of 72 dpi, an sRGB color profile, and must not exceed 5MB per single photo. To ensure the fairness of the contest, images with watermarks are not accepted. If your photo is selected for the final phase and thus will be printed for the photo exhibition, you will be asked to provide an image with a resolution of 300 dpi and an Adobe RGB color profile.
