When I submit a photo to Eyeshot Magazine, do I retain the copyright to the photograph?
Yes, the photographer always retains ownership of the copyright. For more information, please see our Terms and Conditions.
Do I need to register to send photos?
No, no registration is required for sending your photos. You just use the submit form to the “Submission” page.
How many photos can I submit?
There is no lifetime limit on photo uploads to your portfolio.
What are the technical conditions a photo must meet to be considered?
The longer edge of the photo must be at least 1500px long. The photo must have at least 72 dpi of resolution. The photo must NOT be watermarked. The photo must NOT include a frame. The photo must be submitted as a .JPG, JPEG or .PNG file. The photo must be in RGB.
Can I use a Watermarks?
We want to see your photograph without any distractions. Your Shot always credits the author of a photo whenever and wherever it appears on the site, along with providing a link to the author’s profile. Because of this, there’s no need to watermark your photo.
Are my photos safe?
If a photo can be seen in a web browser, it can be downloaded, copied or saved. There is nothing technically possible that Eyeshot Magazine can do to completely prevent this from happening, and it is not an issue unique to your Shot. The only sure way to protect your photos is to not upload them to the Internet.
That said, Eyeshot Magazine does provide some deterrents to make it harder, but not impossible, for people to copy your images. If you find your photo being used without your permission elsewhere online, you should submit a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Notice Of Infringement (copyright) with the website or service.
Will you notify me if my photo is NOT selected for publication?
No. Eyeshot Magazine’s editorial team is not obliged to reply or justify its decision to publish or not publish any photo or project. We only notify authors that are selected for publication, and we send out any material to the photographer before we publish an issue.
Where can I see the photos that I’ve just submitted?
The photos you submit will not be published automatically. They will be subject to editorial review and published only if the Eyeshot Magazine editors decide the photos are in line with our policy, quality requirements and any other editorial criteria, and this is not subject to discussion.
Is image manipulation allowed?
We love to see new photography and watch our members experiment with creative styles and techniques. We happy to see images from full-frame DSLRs, film cameras, smartphones, and others. Our biggest ask is that the photos stay true to your personal vision and to what you saw. Please avoid heavy-handed processing. We want to see the world through your eyes, not through the excessive use of editing tools. If the photograph is manipulated, please describe your process in the caption.
Do photos have to be taken with a digital camera?
Submitted photos do not have to be digital photos taken with a digital camera. Any digital scan will do, as long as the end result is a JPG or JPEG file. You may submit scans of negatives, transparencies, or photographs taken with non-digital cameras.
What should I include in the description of my photograph?
Captions are a great way to engage others in your photography. The Five Ws are a good starting point: Who is it about? What happened? When did it take place? Where did it take place? Why did it happen?
Do you keep the photos you publish? What if you don’t publish them?
You can rest assured that if not selected for publication, your photos will not be held by Eyeshot Magazine. They’re automatically deleted from our servers after 48 hours and are deleted from our offline archive during the selection process if we don’t decide to publish. Published photos are kept offline in our archive, while one to three cropped versions can be found in our online archive advertising the issue in which the photos were published.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Sure, just send us an email at [email protected] within 60 minutes upon your purchase with the stated issue and the order number, and we will do our best to resolve it as quickly as possible (for purchases of digital magazine is not possible). The order cannot be changed or canceled once it departs our warehouse.
Where can I get a Coupon Code?
We know you guys like treats, so occasionally we tend to send out some in a form of a Coupon which you can redeem at our store. To catch one of these you might want to Subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
How do I use a Coupon Code?
After choosing the products go to your cart where you will see a “Coupon” section. In order to redeem it simply enter the code as its shown, without any spaces between characters and click Apply. After that, you will be able to see the discount amount and your current order total, upon which you need to proceed to the checkout phase to complete the order.
