The Good Chicago | Chicago is cold and cloudy for much of the year. We’ve seemingly all asked ourselves why we bother to live here and swear that this winter absolutely is our last one. But when it’s nice outside, I think it’s one of the best cities in the world to live in. I wanted to capture the sense of awe and too-brief satisfaction I feel as I walk the streets on those kinds of days, with a little bit of oddness and mystery here and there. This set of 10 photos were taken during pleasant days in 2018 as part of my first year of dedicating myself to color street photography. This is the light side of Chicago. The Good Chicago. Perhaps next winter I’ll explore Dark Chicago. I’m not going anywhere, and Lord knows there’s plenty of material there to work with.

BIO | I work in healthcare research during the day, with two young daughters that keep me plenty active. I discovered street photography in 2017, and now I can’t shut it off. I fit shooting in where I can, usually on lunch breaks and early evenings after work.
