S/T | I have never been a religious person, I do not possess the precious gift of faith. I have always questioned the existence of a superior being and the peculiar way that we have to interpret the supposed word of God, almost always to the detriment of the weakest. However, the manifestations and religious fervor attracts my attention, especially in those societies in which the religious fact is so deeply rooted that it completely conditions habits, behaviors, and relationships between people.
In this series of candid black and white photos I have searched for these cultural contrasts between four of the main religions (Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism and Islam) in places as diverse as Jerusalem (photos 1 cover-3), Seville (4-6), Varanasi (7), Kolkata (8-9) or Tehran (10-12). All photos were shot on the iPhone between 2017 and 2019.
