Mestizo is a decades-long exploration of Peru’s hybrid identity, seen through the eyes of a photographer with a Peruvian mother and an American father. Shot in black and white, the series captures village life, market exchanges, and backstreet encounters, moments of resilience, pride, and struggle embedded in the daily experience of ordinary Peruvians.

The photographs are both intimate portraits of others and self-reflections of the photographer’s search for identity. They reveal how cultural fusion continues to shape Peru, while probing the complex relationship between memory, history, and belonging.
