In May, Azerbaijanis living in Georgia practice transhumance and migrate to higher lands in order to better feed their herds. During this long journey, they move away from the hustle and bustle of the city and set up tents where they spend their days until mid-autumn.
In his series, the photographer Rasul Guliyev collects fragments of this travel that Azerbaijanis face for several days. These images give us a glimpse into this ancient tradition and into the life of these nomads who move according to seasonal rythims to ensure the best pastures for their livestock.
Rasul Guliyev was born in Baku, Azerbaijan. He approached photography in middle school. Rasul graduated from Ege University with a degree in Dentistry. He sees photography as a way to express himself. Over time, Street and Documentary Photography has become a growing passion in his life. He is still improving his storytelling and artistic vision every day.
