In Own World. Lost within. Lost without. A bit of ‘me’ time. Introspection. Feeling all alone in a crowd. In own world inspects modern day solitary shells.

Photographer: Sakib Pratyay

Country: Canada / Bangladesh

Bio: Sakib Pratyay is a Bangladeshi born Canadian photographer practicing his craft in Alberta since 2013. He is best known for his moody candid photographs that leave the viewer with stories to imagine and compel to introspect. Pratyay’s university education in computer science and a career in IT have taught him to visualize thoughts, organize them and come up with innovative solutions to translate ideas into something tangible. This can be seen in his approach to photography where he takes environmental elements and blends available light with artificial, when necessary, to express his vision using everyday scenes and unguarded, un-staged fleeting moments. Primarily self-taught, he studied photojournalism at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology for a year to further advance his skills.
Pratyay’s photos have been widely published in various online and printed publications, displayed at photo festivals in Miami, Iserlohn and Bangkok with the most recent exhibition at Apik Fine Art Gallery in Calgary.
