Tierra Que Somos is a new limited edition photobook by Alex Kornhuber, published by Eyeshot. It explores the deep relationship between people, land, belonging, and survival in Peru, where the landscape is never simply a background but a force that shapes work, resilience, and identity. Through images of labour, migration, and everyday life, Kornhuber builds an empathetic portrait of a country marked by contrast, beauty, and hardship — a place where the land gives, pressures, and transforms the people, and the people transform the land in order to survive. It is a book about Peru as both place and human condition: the land we belong to, the land we live from, and the land that makes us who we are.
After 30 September, this limited edition will never be available again.

Alex Kornhuber is a German-Peruvian documentary photographer who studied Fine Arts at Ohio University. His work is driven by the desire to capture the essence of transitory and profoundly vulnerable human moments, and he is drawn to the lived experience of marginalized communities. Over two decades he has built an extended portrait of Peru and its people, moving between the country’s coast, mountains, and Amazon — from the high-altitude gold-mining settlement of La Rinconada to a long-term project on ageing in Peru. He tells these stories with still photography, video, and sound, at the meeting point of social documentary and intimate human storytelling.
