Eyeshot Book

Vibrant Wilderness by Sotiris Lamprou

49,90

“Vibrant Wilderness” by Sotiris Lamprou is a limited edition book collection unfolding in Aliartos, Boetia, Greece, and other landscapes across the region. Through capturing the essence of natural and human life in these settings, Sotiris Lamprou challenges us to reconsider the nature of photographic representation and evoke emotions and reflections on truth and authenticity. While extremely valuable for their visual content, the true significance of his photographs lies in what they suggest but do not explicitly show, capturing the unsaid and the unseen. Sotiris Lamprou is a contemplative photographer who captures more than just physical appearances; his work evokes nostalgia and a deeper, almost metaphysical reflection on life.

This limited edition book is curated by Marco Savarese, with text of Lucrezia Bonarota.

THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Sotiris Lamprou

Born and currently living in Aliartos, Boeotia, Sotiris Lamprou is a major Greek photographer. Though he has traveled extensively, he draws most of his inspiration from his hometown, with its moody and graceful landscapes and diverse population, including locals, immigrant workers, and the Roma community. These elements hold a predominant place in his imagery.

For several years, his photographs have regularly appeared on the front page of “Savvato,” the weekly literary magazine of “ELEFTHEROTYPIA,” a prominent national Greek newspaper. His work has also be featured on the cover pages of music albums, books, literary magazines, and photozines worldwide. He has participated in several group exhibitions in Greece and Norway and is the author of four photo books published in Greece, the U.S.A., France, and Italy.
