Watched #22

Every street is a space of gazes. Cameras, screens, reflections, passing glances, avoided eye contact — public space is never neutral, and neither is the act of looking. “Watched” issue #22 explores street photography through this condition of constant visibility: to watch, to be watched, and to exist within a space already saturated with human, mechanical, and reflected eyes. This issue brings together photographs that examine the many forms of looking in the street — direct gazes into the camera, faces caught in screens, reflections in shop windows, absent looks lost in phones, surveillance devices, and even the photographer’s own trace within the frame. With “Watched” reflects on visibility, presence, and the unstable role of the photographer in contemporary public space.
