A NEW BEGINNING presents classic photography with a fresh twist, embracing the freedom to explore and question our surroundings. The photographic approach is as straightforward as keen observation and openness to the surrounding environment, yet is nuanced by personal expression. Each new experience becomes a playground for exploration, offering fresh perspectives to ponder and question. The ever-changing landscapes and situations are not just subjects to capture, but lessons to absorb and learn from.
The photographer finds humor and the macabre in the everyday, capturing life’s essence in its simplest form. They believe in observing what’s often overlooked, those ‘in-between worlds’ that exist within the obvious but offer deeper insights. For them, photography is akin to biology, a way to delve into the unseen beauty of life’s essence. A NEW BEGINNING focuses on the ethereal and spiritual aspects of life and aims to remain a lifelong quest for understanding and expression.
Eyeshot Magazine #11
The second Eyeshot Open Call, a reading of contemporary street and documentary photography across continents and approaches. Issue #11 collects six awarded works, single images and series, selected by a jury of ten photographers, editors, and curators. The works move between street observation, documentary practice, intimate portraiture, and political witness, presented as an annual reading of what photography is doing now.
