In this series, the photographer seeks out traces of poetry and beauty in the everyday, not as an escape, but as a quiet act of resistance. In a world obsessed with constant self-improvement, achievement, and progress, these images offer a different rhythm: one that honors stillness, simplicity, and presence.
Through delicate visual gestures, the work suggests that beauty does not need to be justified or explained, it simply is.
The project embraces a minimal visual language, using composition, light, and atmosphere to convey a sense of calm clarity. It reflects a belief that simplicity is not emptiness, but the essence of what is meaningful, “the quiet breath of true things,” as the artist describes it. These photographs don’t shout; they whisper something essential, inviting the viewer to pause, feel, and remember that beauty often lives in what goes unnoticed.
Eyeshot Magazine #20
The fourth Eyeshot Open Call, a reading of contemporary street and documentary photography across continents and approaches. Issue #20 collects six awarded works, single images and series, selected by a jury of seven photographers, editors, and curators. The works move between street observation, documentary practice, intimate portraiture, and political witness, presented as an annual reading of what photography is doing now.
