THE HIDDEN STORIES IN MUMBAI CITY

Mumbai is a city where life moves fast. With it being the financial capital of India, Mumbai is a city that is telling its stories through the noise of car horns. Busy streets filled with people, street vendors, kids playing, and massive buildings to contemplate. «The Hidden Stories In Mumbai City» is a street photography series in which the author is trying to capture specific movements, and to freeze them in a timeless show.
Born and raised there, the photographer is used to see Mumbai in chaotic actions and people in a rush. But between all the chaos in this city, he is also able to catch a calmer and quieter side. Hidden behind the scenes, there are small connections between human and non-human elements, and they are waiting to be portrayed. «The Hidden Stories In Mumbai City» is an excerpt from a long term project this photographer is working on, with the focus being the movements within the city itself.

THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Yash Sheth is an Indian street photographer. Born in 1994, his profession is now being an electronics engineer. One day, he bought a camera almost by chance, and the result is that he has been doing street photography since 2017. He started learning the basic principles of photography, and then he came up to the realisation that in his view photography is an experience. It allows the photographer to open up to different emotions, and it offers a new challenge to complete every day.
The one thing he likes the most about street photography is that it challenges him to go to the same place over and over, only to watch and feel it in different ways. Curiosity is the feeling that keeps him going, and the streets of India are a strong basis for doing just that. Currently, he is working on long term projects in Mumbai and Ahmedabad, India.
