Travel photographer Jozef Macak shares the stories behind “Tides of Life” and the image that won second place in Single Images at Eyeshot Open Call 2025. From India to Bangladesh and the streets of Cebu, his work blends travel photography, street photography, and quiet observation.

In this episode of Eyeshot 50mm at Magazzino Arti Sceniche in Bologna, Macak explains how he builds layered scenes, why “Tides of Life” grew from days along Dhaka’s Buriganga River, and how he balances risk, curiosity, and respect when working in tough environments. He also talks about being self-taught, learning from workshops, and the role of contests in giving visibility to new voices.
