A man points amid flying pigeons and scattered litter against a yellow wall on a city street, in a color photograph by Aaron Berger.

Street photographer Aaron Berger joins our Eyeshot 50mm format to discuss his journey from Thailand to New York, building a voice in color photography, and capturing what he calls the “micro-dramas” of everyday life.

Known for his obsessive daily practice, Berger shares how being self-taught shaped his vision, the influence of Garry Winogrand, and the delicate balance between luck, instinct, and structure in street photography. Berger speaks openly about working without rigid rules, allowing imperfection, luck, and intuition to coexist. In this interview, Aaron reflects on editing choices, photographing families, diversity without clichés, and his relationship with film vs. digital.
