Christmas, celebrated on December 25th, is considered both a religious and secular holiday. For devout Christians, it marks the birth of Jesus Christ and is commemorated through different religious observances such as attending church services and reenacting biblical stories related to Christ’s birth. In the Western world, many people partake in Christmas festivities, with some emphasizing the religious aspects, while others embracing a more secular approach. Those who celebrate Christmas in a non-religious manner often exchange gifts, share tales of Santa Claus, and decorate their homes with festively illuminated Christmas trees. However, as you walk through streets around the world, you will discover that Christmas takes on a unique and distinct character in each location. In a limited edition of 300 copies, “Street Xmas” is a special edition photography issue capturing the diverse celebratory practice of such festivity around the world. Through the meticulous selection by editor and curator of Eyeshot Marco Savarese of 61 talented street photographers, and the striking cover photo by Fadi BouKaram, this 130 pages magazine will transport you to the captivating world of street photography and the various expressions of the Christmas holiday.
