“Iberoamérica” is a visual odyssey through the layered textures, contradictions, and rhythms of Latin America. Maria Plotnikova’s street-oriented gaze wanders from Andean highlands to tropical plazas, from colonial facades to modern façades, weaving a portrait of identity in motion. Through color, gesture, light, and shadow, she uncovers how history, territory, and memory converge in everyday life, how post-colonial legacies persist in both the grand plazas and the small corners of daily existence. Rather than sing an anthem to cultural unity, “Iberoamérica” probes fissures, dissonances, and the tension between belonging and displacement, painting a continent that resists reduction, invites nuance, and demands attention.
Photographer
Maria Plotnikova is a Russian-born photographer whose work in Latin America has become central to her visual voice.

We choose every material for what it gives the photographs, and for what it leaves behind. Every page, cover, and endpaper is paper made in Italy by Fedrigoni, founded in Verona in 1888: it gives us the print quality we want and the environmental guarantees we will not do without, and we pay more for both.
