Maria Plotnikova’s street-oriented gaze wanders from Andean highlands to tropical plazas, from colonial facades to modern façades, weaving a portrait of identity in motion. Through color, gesture, light, and shadow, she uncovers how history, territory, and memory converge in everyday life, how post-colonial legacies persist in both the grand plazas and the small corners of daily existence. Maria Plotnikova is a Russian-born photographer whose work in Latin America has become central to her visual voice. Having moved to Buenos Aires and later Brazil in 2010, she turned toward street photography and documentary practice, capturing social atmospheres across several Latin American countries. Previously active as a sports and news photographer in Russia, she transitioned her focus to everyday life, memory, and place.  Her work has been published in international outlets, and she has received recognition in venues such as the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest and the London Festival of Photography.
