Richard is an internationally recognized and award-winning innovator in journalism and multimedia, with a career that spans over 25 years in Media and Journalism. He is an Associate Professor of Multimedia and The Bloomberg Chair at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Richard’s work has been featured in The New York Times, Wired, The New Yorker, and National Geographic, among others. He has also received multiple Emmy awards and nominations for his documentary and multimedia journalism work. He has worked on projects with Apple, Google, Facebook, Instagram and Lexus. With a long history in photography, journalism, and art, Richard Koci Hernandez has the visual skills that allow him to combine his photojournalistic reflex in timing, his artistic eye for composition, his historical knowledge of the medium, and his unique vision wrought with wistfulness, mystery, and tenderness.
